The stock market is schizophrenic because the media causes investors to be schizophrenic. It’s the classic snowball effect. Something bad happens, the media plays it up, people get scared, and more bad stuff happens, and the cycle continues. Quite frankly, I’m sick of it. I’m sick of hearing about layoffs, pay cuts, the stock market, banks, and anything and everything about why we should be buying guns, raising goats, and preparing for an Apocalyptic barter economy.
So I want to buck the trend, and I need your help. Once a week, I will post about positive economic/finance/money/business/economy/charitable/life/etc. stories. There’s not many of them out there, so I need your help rounding them up. We can revel in the positive. Who knows, maybe this will start a trend that the national media will start to pick up on. Besides, who wants to buy more negative news stories right now?
For this first edition, here’s a CNN video on Fargo, ND, where the economy is booming and the unemployment rate is only 3.4%. Fargo? Who would have thought.
