US consumer spending grew by 0.7% in December, the Bureau of Economic Analysis said today. Americans’ incomes rose by 0.4% for a second month in a row.

Central Bank says no evidence that banks had reduced their credit standards in respect of Irish SMEs

The Central Bank of Ireland today published the findings of a Review of the Irish Small and Medium Sized Enterprises (SME) strategic lending plans of banks operating in the Republic. The main finding was that there was  no evidence that banks had reduced their credit standards.

Eurozone annual inflation estimated at 2.4% in January 2011

Eurozone annual inflation is expected to be 2.4% in January 2011 according to a flash estimate issued by Eurostat, the statistics office of the European Union. It was 2.2% in December 2010.
