US Consumer Confidence Index increases again in November

The Conference Board’s US  Consumer Confidence Index, which had improved in October, increased further in November. The Index now stands at 54.1 (1985=100), up from 49.9 in October. The Present Situation Index rose to 24.0 from 23.5. The Expectations Index increased to 74.2 from 67.5 last month.

Irish consumer sentiment stabilizes in November

Irish consumer sentiment stabilized in November. The overall Consumer Sentiment Index stood at 48.4 in November, compared to a figure of 48.1 in October. The corresponding figure for November 2009 was 53.6. The 3-month moving average slipped to 49.6 compared to the 54.0 recorded in October. The 3-month moving average stood at 52.5 in November 2009.

Eurozone annual inflation is expected to be 1.9% in November; Unemployment rate rose to 10.1% in October

Eurozone annual inflation is expected to be 1.9% in November 2010 according to a flash estimate issued by Eurostat, the statistics office of the European Union. It was also 1.9% in October. Meanwhile, the Eurozone seasonally-adjusted unemployment rate rose to 10.1% in October 2010 compared with 10.0% in September. It was 9.9% in October 2009. The EU27 unemployment rate was 9.6% in October 2010, unchanged compared with September. It was 9.4% in October 2009.
